Beneficiaries

  • 1.Total: 20
  • 2.Target areas: MKCF Projects

Achievements

  • 1.Organized and implemented the first technical workshop and milestone event for MKCF projects related to water resources management on May 2–3, 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. The event was aimed on sharing technical expertise and experiences from MKCF projects, and also engage in discussions on identified technical challenges and necessary requirements of the projects. The PIAs also participated in the AgendaLab with recognized development partners from the Mekong region (i.e., government officials, USAID, WB, ADPC, UNDP, and others), fostering network expansion in the water sector.
  • 2.Successfully organized and implemented the second technical workshop on September 3–4, 2025 in Vientiane, Lao PDR. Technical advisors from ROK joined the PIAs to share Korea's best practices on the unique technical themes of the MKCF projects (i.e., plastic monitoring in rivers; microplastic and contaminants of emerging concerns; Nature-based solution; solar photovoltaic (PV) recycling; irrigation management transfer; groundwater recharge; soil moisture management in drought prone farms; and flood risk assessment). The event fostered technical exchanges among ROK and Mekong experts.
